PROJECT TEAM
The Haynesville Strategic Plan is a community-driven effort because no one knows this town better than the people who live here. Our Steering Committee, nominated by local leadership, serves as the project’s Hype Team, helping keep the community informed, encouraging people to get (and stay) engaged, and offering honest insight about what’s working, what isn’t, and what solutions feel right for Haynesville.

The Atlas Team will guide the planning effort, provide technical support, and deliver a strategic plan designed to help Haynesville reach its goals.

ALYSON McCOY
Having called Haynesville home since the 6th grade, I am deeply invested in the growth and well-being of our community. After completing my undergraduate studies and serving as a missionary in Germany for two years, I returned to Haynesville where I have continued to build strong roots. I now serve as the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academics and Institutional Effectiveness at Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College. My family and I are active participants in nearly every Haynesville football game and community event. I am honored to contribute my experience and passion for our town as a member of the strategic plan steering committee.

My name is April Childress, and I’ve been a resident of Haynesville all my life. My husband and I have raised our two sons in Haynesville and we wouldn’t live anywhere else. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do to make Haynesville a brighter, more successful place to live so that, maybe, my grandchildren can be raised here and love it as much as I do.

I am a lifelong resident of Haynesville and I am excited to be a part of the planning for our future. I am currently serving my second elected term on the Claiborne Parish Police Jury, District 4. The development of a Strategic Plan for our Town could offer some excellent advantages: 1) Provide direction and vision; 2) Improve resource allocation; 3) Boost economic development; 4) Enhance resident life; 5) Foster proactive governance; and 6) Increase transparency & trust. We need a plan that will address what really matters to all the people who live in Haynesville. Therefore, we need your participation as much as possible.
